In marginal signal conditions, where other receivers produce errors at the ten meter level, NavTrack™ equipped receivers realize the full potential of the GPS signal-in-space. NavTrack™ offers navigation accuracies at the level of one meter or better, in differential or relative targeting modes. Aircraft landing, precision guided munitions, and RPV tracking are just some of the high profile applications of GPS-based systems that need the high performance and increased reliability offered by the NavTrack™ system. Through robust phase tracking, NavTrack™ also supports centimeter landmarking and surveying under combat conditions.

The Department of Defense (DOD) has made substantial efforts towards the development and use of low cost Micro-Electro Mechanical Systems (MEMS) technology. In many applications, the integration of GPS with these low cost inertial sensors is desired. Unfortunately, conventional GPS receiver architectures are unable to realize the performance potential of combined GPS and MEMS integration. NavTrack™ offers this capability due to an architecture that provides ultra-tight coupling of these sensors to the GPS signal-in-space.

As ground forces become more reliant on GPS for designation of  targets, and routing in  hazardous areas, high continuity/integrity performance at the meter level will become essential for the achievement of military objectives. Conventional receivers have difficulty providing this level of performance under typical terrain blockage conditions. Moreover, in jamming their accuracy is further degraded. Nulling antennas and inertial aiding alternatives may be too expensive for this segment. NavTrack™ enhancement, however, facilitates cost effective MEMS aiding for further jamming and blockage protection.

Test range instrumentation receivers provide the performance benchmark against which standard GPS avionics are compared. NavTrack™ enhanced receivers are the first to offer high-continuity carrier phase tracking for centimeter level performance in high dynamics and blockage environments. In addition, they offer optimal multi-antenna diversity reception for overcoming vehicle body blockage.
